Dark mode switches
There is no need to display a light mode label. Give people some credit.
If you really feel like people struggle with the concept of on/off, use radio buttons.
If you're the sort of designer who saw this on Dribbble, and can't live without it… you can make a switch that looks like this and hides "Light mode" from the screen reader. This feels weird because clicking either label will toggle the switch without discretion.
The problem with this is that you're now relying on future developers who touch this to understand how it works and not break it.
